Dr. Sundeep Mishra is one of India's top cardiovascular surgeons with more than 37 years of experience and vast knowledge. Presently, he is the vice-chancellor (President) at Jaipur, Rajasthan-based Nims University, and Director of the Institute of Cardiology at Nims Hospital. Dr. Mishra was an ex-professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiology at the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi. Before joining NIMS University, he spent 38 years serving patients at AIIMS. In addition, he was the Officer-in-charge of the Coronary Intervention Purchase Committee, International Student Committee, and Cath Lab at AIIMS New Delhi.

In his college days, he completed an MBBS from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, and an MD in Medicine from the University of Delhi. After this, he completed his DM in Cardiology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences. A fellowship in Interventional Cardiology also was granted to Dr. Mishra from Washington Hospital Center, USA.

Dr. Mishra is a member of various professional and scientific societies, including the Cardiological Society of India (CSI) and Delhi CSI. In addition, he is an India Session Coordinator at K imaging, Korea, and NMC Assessor for DM cardiology courses. Previously, Dr. Mishra was associated with the SCAI International Committee in the USA, Sri Lanka Interventional Meeting, Asia PCR Scientific Committee, and the SCAI India Working Group in the USA. He contributed to APSIC (Singapore), EuroCHORUS Scientific Committee (France), Cardio Alex, 1st Healthy Food Symposium in AIIMS, and SCAI Case Exchange Session (USA) in various roles. He was an international advisor and mentor in Interactive Professional Development Initiatives. He also founded the Patients United for Heart Failure Foundation and was a Founding Member of the I-ternity Foundation.

He is the former Chairman of the National Intervention Council of India and has organized several "India Sessions" on the sidelines of several meetings; ACC, ESC, SCAI, TCT, CCT, EuroPCR, AsiaPCR, GulfPCR, IC-MED, K-Imaging, Italian Society of Cardiology, Turkish Society of Cardiology, and Egyptian Society of Cardiology, TCT-AP, CHORUS. He is a voting selector of the MSCAI nominating committee. He is a winner of the Global Interventional Quiz, conducted by the American Heart Association in New Orleans in Nov-2016, and the National Cardiology Quiz at the Annual CSI Meeting in 2013.

Dr. Mishra is the recipient of many awards: Best Academician Award by Tamil Nadu CSI, Young Leader Award by Cardiovascular Revascularization Therapeutics Washington DC (USA), Sujoy B Roy Young Investigator Award, and KL Chopra Award.

He was the first person to do Virtual Histology and Experimental Angiogenic Gene Therapy in India and developed the Rat Hind Limb Ischemia Model for the first time in India. Dr. Mishra has received various research grants and contracts, including; 'SPIRIT V Study evaluating Xience V stent,' 'INDICOR Study evaluating Drug Eluting Balloon,' 'ReMeDi Study,' 'CVD Biomarker profiling in Acute Coronary Events,' 'Mes Res Study of Bioresorbable Stent' and many more.

Dr. Mishra has more than 200 manuscripts and research abstracts. In addition, his book (as Editor in Chief) Cath lab Practicals Manual and Recent Research & Analysis in Cardiology are best-sellers among cardiology books.

Dr. Mishra is associated with many cardiovascular interventions journals and magazines as an editor and member of the editorial board. In addition, he was editor-in-chief of the Indian Heart Journal, the official journal of the Cardiological Society of India. Currently, Dr. Mishra is an international editor at the Sri Lanka Journal of Cardiology, Associate Editor at Asia Intervention (an affiliate of EuroIntervention), and Co-Editor-in-Chief at the Journal of Cardiology and Diagnostic Research. He is a member of the executive board of the Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology and Clinical Research & Studies Journal. Dr. Mishra was involved in various multinational clinical trials and consultations, shared guest lectures, and conducted more than 25 workshops.
