(1964) and M.D. (Pharmacology) in 1968 from K.G.'s Medical College, Lucknow, Ph.D. (Medicine) from Rajasthan University in 1975 and D.Sc. From the day of inception of Indian Medical Trust and initiation of its first venture, the National Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. (Mrs.) Shobha Tomar has been involved from the day the first brick was laid. It is the untiring effort of “LEADING LADY OF RAJASTHAN” as Dainik Bhaskar daily news paper of Hindi has called her, the campus of once a medical college has been transformed into NIMS UNIVERSITY. Dr. (Mrs.) Tomar had done her graduation from King Georges Medical College Lucknow, obtained advanced training at PGI Chandigarh and King's College London, England and Harvard University of U.S.A. for In-vitro fertilization. Today the Managing Director of one of the better Medical Colleges in the country, Dr. Shobha Tomar always had a rather close relationship with practice of Gynecology and has excelled in the profession. With her scientific and philanthropic approach and zeal to provide quality medical education and training was the primary reason that she devoted her energies for the establishment of educational institutions. She has served state medical services of Rajasthan for many years. After taking voluntary retirement she is fully devoted to the task of advancing the concept of education to all. |
